A Finger Lakes Wedding

a Timeless Wedding at The Mansion on Keuka Lake

Sabrina and Zach's June wedding at The Mansion on Keuka Lake was the kind of day that felt both effortlessly elegant and deeply personal. Their vision was a classic black and white palette with a timeless, romantic feel, and the mansion was the perfect place to bring it all to life. With historic charm, vintage interiors, and sweeping views of Keuka Lake, every part of the day felt intentional without ever feeling forced.

Sabrina, a teacher with a creative heart, and Zach, a lineman with the calmest presence, planned a wedding that reflected who they are in the best way. Thoughtful, meaningful, and full of moments that felt real.

A Vintage Setting with Modern Black and White Style

From the very beginning, Sabrina and Zach knew they wanted a wedding that felt simple, classic, and timeless. Black dresses, black suits, white florals, and clean design choices allowed the setting to shine while still feeling elevated. The Mansion on Keuka Lake brought in the vintage character they loved, while the reception space leaned more modern and crisp, creating the perfect balance.

One of my favorite parts of the design was how much Sabrina created by hand. From custom mirror signage made on her Cricut to carefully chosen personal details, everything felt thoughtful and uniquely theirs.

Getting Ready Inside the Historic Mansion

Sabrina got ready in one of the historic suites, surrounded by calm energy and anticipation. These slow, quiet moments are where documentary photography really shines, unposed and full of emotion.

Zach and his groomsmen spent the morning together inside the mansion as well, laughing, hanging out, and soaking it all in before the ceremony. The energy was relaxed, joyful, and set the tone for the rest of the day.

An Intimate Ceremony Overlooking Keuka Lake

The ceremony took place outdoors overlooking Keuka Lake and felt incredibly intimate and grounding. Before the ceremony, Sabrina and Zach chose to read their vows privately on the balcony while holding hands, without looking at each other. I don't know how they did it! I totally would have tried peeking!

When it was time for the ceremony, Sabrina walked down the aisle eventually joined by her mom, but every eye was on her - even the groom with a tear or two! The ceremony itself was heartfelt and simple, and when they shared their first kiss as husband and wife, it was pure joy.

Wedding Party Portraits with Personality

After the ceremony, we moved into wedding party photos that felt relaxed and fun. Black dresses, black suits, and a group that was clearly ready to celebrate. From polished, editorial-style portraits to candid walking shots and full-on laughter, the energy was unmatched.

Their wedding party brought such a perfect mix of elegance and personality, which mirrored the overall feel of the day so well. The groomsmen even had a little fun trying to think of the best JC Penny vibe poses for their solo shots!

Romantic Portraits Inside and Out

Portrait time gave us everything. Soft, romantic moments outdoors surrounded by Finger Lakes scenery, playful lifts and laughter, and quiet emotional frames that felt cinematic.

Inside the mansion, the staircase quickly became my favorite. Warm light, chandeliers, and vintage mirrors created some of the most timeless images of the day. The contrast between moody indoor portraits and bright outdoor moments added so much depth to the gallery. And yes, the high-flash ring photos while kissing felt as iconic as it was.

A Reception Full of Personality and Celebration

The reception area carried that same black and white elegance straight through, with candles, florals, and a packed dance floor. One of the most personal details of the night was their cake topper, a custom piece showing a lineman kissing his bride. It was such a perfect nod to Zach and made the cake cutting even more fun.

From emotional first dances to guests filling the dance floor, the night ended exactly how it should. Loud, joyful, and surrounded by people who love them.

Why This Day Worked So Well

This wedding was a perfect reminder that thoughtful details and breathing room in the timeline make a day feel calm and intentional. Sabrina and Zach trusted the process, focused on what mattered most to them, and created a wedding that felt elevated, meaningful, and completely true to who they are.
